Horses are us (April 14, 2014: New York Daily News)
Milpitas, Calif.: To Voicer Peggy Siegel: I’ve had to think all day and more to decide how to say this: You think the outcry is for the carriage drivers and not for you. I disagree. This is the same war — a different battle, but the same war. The war is over ever-increasing income disparities and the corporate takeover of our government. The few with the most money make more at the expense of the common people. Your battle for your job is one that sets you against corporate power and money, just as it is for the carriage horses. Throughout history, horses have symbolized many things we admire or value. Now, today, in New York City, they symbolize you and me. Cara Drouin
