Keep the horses, ban the cars (May 2, 2014: New York Daily News

Manhattan: In Central Park between 60th St. and 72nd St. on the eastside loop, cars move into the bike lanes to pass the carriage horses, and bikes in turn move into the runners lane to avoid the cars. With bikes and runners going in both directions, it’s just a question of who will get hit first when the weather gets warmer and use increases. Someone should connect the dots and ban cars in Central Park — not the beautiful carriage horses. Most New Yorkers would love to see the cars disappear from the park. Leonard Smoke
