It’s a living (May 4, 2014: New York Daily News)

Crystal Lake, Ill.: As a caretaker for four horses, two dogs and two cats, I believe that the carriage horses are just a representation of a larger issue that all animal lovers should care about: the place of animals in our world. Domestic animals, including horses, were selectively bred over thousands of years to live and work with human beings. Banishing them from our lives (including banishing them from our cities) would constitute real animal cruelty. Thank you for supporting carriage drivers and their equine work partners. Valerie Rogers
