De Blasio’s Carriage Obsession (February 12, 2014: New York Post)
Mayor de Blasio should spend as much energy for the good of New York City residents as he does chasing horses and their drivers out of Central Park (“A Suspicious Obsession,” Editorial, Feb. 9).
Our mayor might concentrate on solving real problems – fixing busted streets, cleaning up filthy neighborhoods and walkways and working harder to build a subway worthy of this great city.
We really don’t need his progressive agenda lecture – but he does need our votes, which he shouldn’t get if he doesn’t deliver. John Fierro Brooklyn
Please, Mayor de Blasio, leave the carriage horses alone.
We’ve lost all the remnants of my old New York.
Movie palaces like the Ziegfield Theater and Loew’s State Theater or the old video-game parlors in Times Square, the various bookstores and record stores, all are gone.
Leave the hardworking carriage drivers alone. Worry about the homeless. Tom Sciacca Danbury, Conn.
Maybe de Blasio should spend a few bucks and take his wife on a carriage ride to see how great it really is.
His push against the carriages is just bribery and influence-peddling. Mark ComerfordBradenton, Fla.
