Too close for comfort (May 30, 2015: New York Daily News)

Granite City, Ill.: It was with a great deal of pleasure that I read your editorial about Mayor de Blasio, NYCLASS and David Gockel (“Horseplay in City Hall,” May 17). If the mayor states he is going to do an independent review of the carriage trade, then he should indeed make it a truly independent, third-party review. This party should not have connections to the carriage owners, the stable owners or Local 553. Nor should the third party have any connection with the mayor, his cronies, his financial backers or parties even remotely interested in developing property near or around the carriage stables. It appears de Blasio is incapable of acquiring such an independent review. Carolyn Rice
