**Desperate measures (July 4, 2015: New York Daily News)**

Brooklyn: Councilmembers Debi Rose and Jimmy Van Bramer should be applauded for standing up to the schoolyard bullies of NYCLASS. The horses are not abused or in danger. The carriage industry has an excellent safety record. The campaign to persuade the public that a hunk of metal is as adorable as a living, breathing horse was panned by everybody. So now, in desperation, they are claiming that they themselves are the ones abused by the carriage drivers! What will they think of next? Ruth Moore
