Follow the money (May 20, 2016: New York Daily News)

Chattahoochee Hills, Ga.: So, basically, Mayor de Blasio is claiming that since not all of the people he solicited donations from were quid pro quo deals, one should simply ignore all of those that were (“I have list of angry donors — Hizzoner,” May 19)? In other words, anyone who donated to him who is not on that list, we should assume received something for their donation? We already know he planned to ban horse carriages for Steve Nislick and NYCLASS, and was foiled in that attempt by the City Council and the Teamsters. Why can’t he just answer the question: Did he, or did he not, solicit donations from people who had business with the city? Victorena Minchew
