Hold your horses (January 25, 2016, New York Daily News)

Lancaster, Pa.: On behalf of my family and friends who visit NYC regularly, we would like to suggest that the horsedrawn carriages be allowed to continue operating without change or disturbance. It would be sad to see Mayor de Blasio go down in history as the man who stripped NYC of its old-world tradition and charm of the horsedrawn carriages, not to mention destroying the livelihoods of the owners and drivers and most likely the lives of many noble horses. And for what — money? That’s beyond unethical. Stop the new bill! Julie Rudisill
