Stables as shelters (January 27, 2016: New York Daily News)

Brooklyn: There is a simple way for Mayor de Blasio to prove that his plan to relocate the carriage horse stables on the West Side to Central Park has nothing to do with the rapacious real estate developers who contributed huge sums to his campaign and are champing at the bit to take over the stable sites. The mayor should use the power of eminent domain to take over the stables and construct low-income housing or homeless shelters in their place. In other words, de Blasio should act like the Park Slope progressive he claims to be, not the pawn for NYCLASS he really is. Dennis Middlebrooks
