New York Post Letter to the Editor by William Kregler, 2/2/2016

The latest horse-carriage bill is yet another example of the sad state of politics in New York City (“Blas’ New Low,” Editorial, Jan. 30).

Small, powerful groups with financial clout can viciously attack people while labeling fellow New Yorkers as villains.

This has been done to our police officers, firefighters, Uber drivers and now carriage drivers.

These hard-working, taxpaying, law-abiding New Yorkers have to endure a relentless campaign of harassment, including calling them abusers of their partners – their beloved horses.

This ill-conceived bill will not only shrink the industry and cost jobs, but most importantly end the chance for at least 100 horses to avoid the fast track to the slaughter house.
