Oceanside, L.I.: I have loved horses my whole life; we have rescued six horses and I support many animal rescue groups. I am against banning the Central Park carriage horses, and it seems to me that the people wanting to do so are taking that position based upon ignorance or politics rather than animal welfare. I was appalled by the group that, when asked if they are advocating or plan to advocate against the racing industry, said no. What a hypocrisy. When you consider the abuses that occur in the racing industry, there is no comparison. Miriam McEnroe
