Astoria: So Mayor de Blasio decides that his wife’s aide, who earns $170,000 a year, did nothing wrong by failing to disclose on a background check that she resides with a convicted killer. Between this incident and getting his reverend pal out of jail back in February, he makes it very obvious that if you’re politically connected to him, you get a pass. If you’re not — as in the charter schools and the horse carriage industry — you’re doomed. Sounds like a “tale of two cities,” eh, Mr. Mayor? Sebastian Mannuzza
