Philadelphia: Voicer Elizabeth Forel’s letter about banning the Big Apple’s horse carriages almost made me cry. Why would she say hurtful things about living, breathing, historic landmarks like the carriage horses in Central Park? I’ve been near 59th and Broadway on a class trip and met some of the operators and horses first-hand. They are a part of the Big Apple, just like the subways. Keep the carriages in midtown. Curtis J.
