Just say whoa (December 6, 2014: New York Daily News)

Manhattan: The public is being told that the carriage horses are unfortunate creatures trapped in an abusive industry. In fact, carriage horses live very good horse lives: They’re well fed, well cared for and closely supervised, and are doing the job they were bred for. I am writing from personal knowledge as a horse owner. If the horses are “retired,” they will live lives of relative neglect. Some will be sent to slaughter. Susan Carlo
