Horse sense (December 6, 2014: New York Daily News)

Riverhead, L.I.: I am not in favor of the horse-carriage ban, nor am I in favor of keeping things the way they are. This whole thing started over unfortunate accidents involving carriage horses, which occurred on city streets. Why is the answer banning them, when all that would do is condemn them to the glue factory? If I were mayor, I’d allocate a piece of Central Park and build stables and pasture land for them. No one would lose jobs. You’d have happier and healthier horses. And how cool would it be to take a sleigh ride around the park at Christmastime? Wendy Talmage
