Ban plan doesn’t add up (December 16, 2014: New York Daily News)

Brooklyn: This should be a no-brainer for City Council members: the lives of 200-plus horses, the jobs of 300-plus horsemen and women, a 157-year-old tradition and $19 million tourist attraction supported by powerful labor unions and 63% of New Yorkers — and $26,000 in fines to NYCLASS for illegal campaign spending. Add it up, and keep the NYC carriage horses! If Mayor de Blasio needs to twist some arms in the City Council to ban them, that’s one more sign that this isn’t the right or honest move. Jill Adamski
