Leave carriages alone (December 22, 2014: New York Daily News)

Floral Park: Mayor de Blasio wants to get rid of horse carriages in the city because he feels they don’t belong there. Well, what about all the bicycles? They certainly don’t belong in city traffic, either. They speed through the streets, go against traffic and run down pedestrians, sometimes seriously injuring them. While I’m at it, why not also get rid of those pedicabs? This isn’t Beijing, last time I looked. These carriages have been here long before de Blasio, and if anything should leave the city, it’s the mayor. Margaret Stein
