The cold truth (February 26, 2015: New York Daily News)

Northport, L.I.: To Voicer Naila Costa, who says it’s hypocritical that dogs have to be inside in the cold, but horses do not: I have horses that live in my backyard. They each have their own stall and shelter from the weather. The barn does not have heat, yet they spend as much time as possible outside their stalls. Horses are not the same as our pet dogs and cats. Horses grow a long winter fur and are used to living outside. Their physiology benefits from walking and moving as much as possible. Keeping them in a stall because of how humans feel about the cold only makes us feel better, not the horses. Ken Cresswell
