Happy at work (April 3, 2015: New York Daily News)

Manhattan: Voicer Kiley Blackman appears to be the one who is “mired in illusions” about working animals. To equate any working animal with a human slave is offensive and obtuse. When the fire in the East Village occurred, were the working dogs who appeared being abused, or were they saving lives? Were the animals working on the pile after 9/11 abused or enslaved? Are the police horses in NYC slaves, or are they performing duties to keep our streets safe? I choose to listen to the dozens of equine professionals who have examined carriage horses and deemed them healthy and happy over the protein-deprived, angry vegans with a chip on their shoulders. Ava Seavey
