Horses and history (May 3, 2015: New York Daily News)

Middle Village: I have been a reader of the Daily News since 1948. At that time, it was only three pennies. I really appreciate and am proud of The News for its efforts to save the horses in Central Park. Tourists come from all over the world to ride the horse carriages, and those rides also generate money for the city. My friend from England visited last year and often recalls the horses in Central Park as the best attraction here. Mayor de Blasio is already unpopular and has made disastrous financial decisions that have affected New York. If he gets rid of the horses, things will surely get a whole lot worse. Patrick F. O’Dea
